For the Love of Turtle

Judah has a new favorite toy these days.  A plastic water squirting turtle.  It came with a package of water toys and thankfully the one animal he likes the most comes in two colors, blue & green. See how Judah loves his new favorite toy oh so much.

This Past Week

This past week has been a busy one for me.  I mean, nothing enormously crazy but it has kept me from posting anything in a while. I decided to break it down into sections:

My Etsy Shop
The reason for my lack of postage is partly due to me fulfilling my first custom order on my Etsy shop!  I was very pleased and excited to do this.  You can check out those pictures on my personal Facebook page.  Not to mention with my 50% off Spring Sale I had a decent number of buys for being such a new shop.  This of course required running around to craft stores and the post office. Sales in my shop seem to come in waves.  I'll get a bunch one day even from total new customers and then none for weeks. I suppose I have put minimal investment into my shop for "really wanting it to work".  Could I seek out better photography locations to get better pictures?  Could I create more treasuries and post in forums to get noticed more?  Yes, of course but I just don't have the time with Judah and taking care of my house.  It is truly incredible how much is involved in being a stay at home mom.

As for me making this week longer and busier than necessary, I got sick and had to go to the ER last night.  It was not serious actually but I went more for preventative measures to keep Judah safe (as per the on call doctor) and also because I frankly wasn't sure what was going on.  I couldn't keep down any food at all and was so ridiculously weak.  I was scared I would drop Judah or faint.  I was convinced it was the flu, turns out it was a stomach bug.  I am feeling tremendously better now though and am finally eating a sandwich (something of substance) for the first time in two days. Timm was able to go to school and did not need to stay home with me because I felt a lot better today. So praise God for that.

Timm and I have been trying to wean Judah off of the swaddle.  This requires Judah sleeping with one arm out for a time until he gets used to that.  After one arm, then two arms, then only the lower half of the body is swaddled, then we move on to the sleep sack and finally hopefully he'll be sleeping with just a blanket. Judah has always been a tough sleeper and this is just one more of those aspects of sleep we need to deal with.  Nap time takes a lot longer these days in terms of Judah falling asleep due to this whole new process.

On a lighter note Judah has turned 9 months old!  He had his 9 month check up on Monday.  Judah weighed in at 19 lbs exactly and measures 28 1/2 inches long.  In terms of his latest achievement he is saying "Mama" like an absolute champ!  I am convinced he knows what he is saying because he only says it when I'm around.  Then again I'm always around him.

So, there you have it.

27 Years Young

My whoopee pie birthday cake!

So it is, yesterday marked my 27th year on Earth. I had a splendid day with my husband, son, & father along with my sister-in-law and her husband.  Not to mention I was happily surprised to see my friends waiting for me at a restaurant!  Timm is such a great husband and great listener when it comes to details.

Now, I know I am headed towards that next decade, yes the big THREE OH, and when I get there Timm will just be turning 27 himself, but it is totally fine because I look and feel young and feel great and no matter what age I am I know that God the Father loves me and that's all that matters.  I am so glad I could share this time with all of you!

"Happy Birthday, Mommy!"

A Positive Direction

Dear Readers,

I am noticing many people are taking a break from and/or deleting their Facebook accounts.  I personally think this is a good thing.  Maybe we are all coming to the point where we realize, especially if we are believers in Christ, that the idea of "me" should not come first, and the idea of others obviously should! I think that Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, & yes even a blog can all bring our focus to the self.  When we are on the computer it is only you and the computer (no human interaction) and what we do talk about? Ourselves of course.  Do we really need to update our status everyday, or multiple times a day? I mean, I really don't care to know every time you go to the bathroom. Number one, that's what Twitter is for, and number two who cares that much about every minuscule detail of your life besides God the Father who knows everything anyway; he doesn't need you to type it out on the computer.

I don't think that Facebook in itself is a negative tool by any means.  I really think that it has been useful to me in keeping in touch with my friends who are otherwise hard to get a hold of, or those who live in other states that I may not get to see very often.

The main thing about social networking, blogs, & other online "self" tools is that, just like with everything else on this earth, we need to have self control. If we over indulge online, we will probably get puffed up and lose our ability to interact well in person; because think about how many people are socially awkward now.  We are losing the art form of person to person interaction.

Now as for me, I have been slowing down on how much I post because like I said in my "FMF Sadness" post I am trying to get my priorities straight.  I do like to have hobbies because they keep me busy, keep my mind active, and are fun during my down time.  That is what this blog is to me, a hobby.  I enjoy it and love sharing bits and pieces of my life with you all, but I am not here to get puffed up.  Sometimes I too think about deleting or deactivating my Facebook account and I don't for a simple reason: that is how I share my new blog posts. Oh, the irony of it all.

Playing on the Floor

You may not be talking
You may not be walking
You may not even be crawling
But you sure do look cute rolling around and playing on the floor!

Judah says "I own this floor."

Taking a rest. Already.
Back to playing. Yay!

Baby model pose break.

"You're still taking pictures, Mom? Oh, but I love you!"

"I love the scarf!" It truly is one of Judah's favorite things.

"Now I eat the scarf. The floor is fun!"

Father & Son

Here are some recent moments captured with Timm & Judah enjoying each other, having some "male bonding" time, & just altogether looking cute.

"Dad, not in front of the camera!"

"Yes, I love you too, Dad."

"Is it me, or do we shop at the same stores?"

My Batmen.

That's Judah's "I know I'm cute" face.

The hats just make them even cooler Batmen.

Judah did not want to let go of his Red Sox hat.

Very cute boy.

Dad using Judah's belly as a drum.

Judah loves his Daddy.
